100 Things 6/100

100 Things learned in 50 years...

Accept your hair.

I can cut it or color it or style it differently, but I am never going to be a natural blond with straight hair. I am a wavy-haired brunette; that is the hair reality. Accepting that is a tremendous relief; wishing it different is a waste of time and energy. Working with what IS instead of what I want it to be makes for a lot less frustration and fretting.

I have cut my hair, grew it out, colored it, permed it etc etc. I finally decided to just leave it be about two years ago and I am pretty happy with that decision.

For the first time in my life, I love my hair.

I don't love my hair, I haven't made it that far. But I like the color even if I do occasionally envy other colors. Ever since the perm, my hair has changed....it has more poof/kink to it and I'm not a fan. But they say your hair changes every seven years, so maybe it will change and I'll come to love it lol
